Fellas – Voices that Sing
90 x 135cm (sand & acrylic)
Inspired by a photograph by Gunther Deichmann, this piece reflects on the future carried within the faces of Australia’s First Nations children. As a South African–born artist, I approached it with deep respect and curiosity, drawn to the beauty, spirit, and resilience that live in their eyes. It’s about connection, protection, and the belief that from every history, a new strength emerges.
Wild Within
150 x 140cm (sand, acrylic & gold dust)
A moment of raw release, a monochromatic embodiment of instinct, power, and freedom. This horse, stripped of colour and distraction, becomes a mirror of what lies beneath the surface: the untamed spirit we often keep restrained. Originally a woman’s face, her traces still move through the mane, a reminder that emergence often comes through transformation. Inspired by Dark Horse by @hind.yugm.
Where the Earth Breathes
140 x 140cm (sand, acrylic, glitter and paste)
This work captures the expansive calm and meditative clarity of the Yallingup coastline. The caves beneath and the coastline above, the living connection of land, air, and water. Through layered hues and textured depth, it invites a sense of strength, stillness, and reflection, a quiet emergence from nature’s infinite rhythms. Inspired by @saltywings photography, it’s a reminder of how beauty and gratitude rise when we immerse ourselves in the natural world.
Edge of Stillness
140 x 140cm (acrylic, sand, gold leaf and inks)
An aerial tribute to Yallingup’s rugged elegance, capturing the delicate harmony between ancient rock and the crystalline Indian Ocean. Through textured layers and shifting tones, the work invites stillness, a suspended moment where earth and water converge, revealing nature’s quiet emergence from motion. Inspired by @saltywings photography.
Emergence
85 x 140cm (acrylic & sand)
This work explores the quiet transformation that unfolds beneath the surface, of water, of self, of perception. Louisa, both muse and fellow artist, embodies the space between clarity and distortion, stillness and motion. Submerged yet luminous, she becomes a symbol of emergence itself, the moment consciousness rises through the fluid layers of the seen and unseen.
Darling, what if you fly?
98 x 110cm (acrylic and sand)
A tribute to the spirit of young men stepping into their own creative journeys. This work captures the pulse of courage, curiosity, and becoming, the moment when energy meets vulnerability, and vision meets risk. Each brushstroke moves between control and surrender, like light chasing sound. The mark in the corner, an unplanned stroke forming the initials of my own son – TvS, reminds me that nothing we create, or become, is ever by accident. Acknowledgement to @bluesandgreens, whose creative community embodies the truth that emergence is never solitary, but always shared.
I Choose Love
130 x 120cm (sand, acrylic, ink and love)
A bold, emotive celebration of the Australian native Banksia. Rendered in radiant, high-impact colour and thick impasto, the single bloom stands as a symbol of resilience and renewal.Set against a luminous wash, the work honours beauty in complexity, a conscious turning toward love over fear, chaos, or despair. This is a painting that declares itself through texture and tone, a burst of joy, defiance, and hope.

What began as two donkeys evolved into a sun-kissed, all-Australian beach girl. Bare, relaxed, and utterly at ease within herself. This piece captures the essence of growing up under the sun: salt on skin, stillness in breath, and the quiet freedom of feeling unbound. There is a strength in her softness, a familiarity that resonates. A simple, wordless, youthful ease that says everything.
